Carlsberg

23rd December 2016

The project entailed the installation of new flooring and a new drainage system for the brewing giant Carlsberg, for the new bottling facility at Northampton. The project involved laying the resin flooring, screed, membrane and drainage for above ground construction.

Complex fall patterns were introduced to aid drainage to the gullies from the cleaning and pasteurising equipment.

The floor drainage gullies were cast into new concrete, before the liquid waterproof membrane Masterseal M861 membrane was laid. Specific sealing details were supplied for applying a seal around the floor gullies. The stainless steel channels were installed to suit the layout and fall arrangement. Ancorite then cast a fibre reinforced concrete screed, again to falls, prior to the Ucrete UD200 system at 6mm and 9mm thick being trowel applied to the concrete screed. A rendered cove was applied to the perimeter and expansion joints were cut and sealed with Masterseal 460.

The project was undertaken in winter months with climatic controls being required to complete the work to meet the programme.
